A brief update: I’m finally leaving town

Some points of interest:

1. My last day of work was this Sunday. I almost cried. I am so, so thankful to have spent the past year working at the best job I’ve ever had, for the most amazing company with the most amazing mission and the most amazing coworkers (and the most amazing benefits!), but I am about to embark on an adventure I’ve been dreaming of for two years. Leaving is worth it.

2. I am heading to Portland tomorrow to start a last-minute Pacific Northwest tour that is so up in the air that I’m relying on rideshares, Greyhound and Couchsurfing to get around, and have little to no idea what I want to see or visit. It really doesn’t help that I’ve only spent about two hours in this past week at home (though with good reason) so I’ve been unable to do all the research I normally go through before a trip. For someone who’s such a huge planner as me, this is both nerve-racking and exciting. I tell myself that it’s an experiment in surrendering to the universe.

3. In two weeks I move to Asia. Indefinitely.

‘Yikes’ about covers it.
